WHY WE BUILT IT

“I Wanted to Become a Better Coach.”

For thirteen years, I coached across nearly every part of the game. I served as a head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, offensive-line coach, and run-game coordinator. Every responsibility required something different from me.

As a teacher and player developer, I wanted routine evaluation to produce continuous player development. I wanted the players to reflect on their execution independently and for us staff to be able to prepare feedback on our own time.

As a play caller, I wanted a real-time scouting HUD I could glance at during the game and immediately see the answers to the situational questions running through my mind. No searching. No waiting. No query required.

I also had the technical background to build what I could not find. Using what I learned while earning my master’s degree in software engineering and working as a software developer, I began turning those coaching needs into working systems.

Snap!Grade and TurboScout solve different problems because coaches perform different jobs. They share one origin: I built the tools I needed to become the coach I wanted to be, then built them so entire football organizations could use them immediately.

TurboScout coordinates an unlimited number of assigned staff members as they capture live football observations through purpose-built offensive and defensive charting consoles. Each staff member can focus on a specific perspective while contributing to the same live session in seconds.

As observations enter the system, the real-time scouting HUD continuously updates by personnel, formation, hash, down and distance, field zone, and other football situations. Coaches can glance at the HUD and immediately see the answers they need. No searching. No waiting. No query required.
